People who have a Health Care Card may be in entitled to cheaper fares on public transport. Contact Centrelink for a Health Care Card. Contact Metcard Helpline on 1800 652 313 to ask if you are eligible for a concession.

Payment of bills – electricity, gas, telephone

Concessions, or cheaper rates, may be available to people on Health Care Cards. Contact your local gas or electricity office to find out.

Energy Relief Scheme may be available to those people on health care cards who have difficulties paying their bills because of special circumstances. Phone 1800 658 521.

Utility Relief Grant Scheme is available for once off help with paying a bill. Phone 9616 7839

Easy Way Payment Plans may be a good idea for paying electricity, gas or water service.
