There are some services (like the Salvation Army, Brotherhood of St. Laurence, or St Vincent de Paul), that can give you food vouchers or cheap clothing, or even furniture, if you are in need. You can ring your local council or your nearest Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) to find out where to get it. The Caroline Chisolm Society has great baby clothes, pushers, etc., to give away.
