There are services that can help with

Some services are provided by the government and others through community agencies.

Centrelink
has different kinds of payments, which you may be entitled to. The kind of payments or benefits that you are entitled to depend on your particular situation.

  • Possible payments include:
  • Maternity Allowance
  • Sole Parent Pension
  • Family payments
  • Parenting Allowance
  • Child Care Assistance
  • Child disability Allowance
  • Special Benefit
  • Health Care Cards
  • Employment/Education Entry Payments
  • Rent Assistance.

Centrelink
also has social workers and other services such as employment advisers, a Multilingual Telephone Information Service
(Phone 13 12 02) and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Liaison Officers
. Interpreters can be arranged for interviews with Centrelink staff.
