Sharing a house
Sharing a place is one way of keeping living costs down. Share Registers are services that give information about people who would like to share and who have a place to offer or who are looking for somewhere to live. The following organisations have share registers:
- Council of Single Mothers and their Children, Collingwood
- Young Women’s Housing Shopfront, Collingwood
- Women’s Information Referral Exchange
Your local Youth Resource Centre may also have a Share Register.
You should think very carefully about the people that you share a house with. If there are probelms with a fellow tenant not paying rent or destroying the property you have very limited legal rights.
